Welcome to The Princeton Ocean Model (POM), a sigma coordinate, free surface, ocean model, which includes a turbulence sub-model. It was developed in the late 1970's by Blumberg and Mellor, with subsequent contributions from other people (see short history, POM in Wikipedia). The model has been used for modeling of estuaries, coastal regions, basin and global oceans.
News and Announcements:

New versions with Wetting and Drying (WAD) and Surface Wave Coupling are under development, beta versions available to users (see publications and trial WAD code in Info/Codes link).

Developers of a new code are now collaborating through a POM-pbwiki, if you have a code to contribute or would like to join, please contact L.Oey

The international PICES meeting will be help in Dalian, China, 23/Oct/08-2/Nov/08.
